About this namavali — Durga
A Namavali is a litany of the divine names of a deity — 108 or 1008 epithets, each revealing a different quality or legend. Chanting the names with "Om" before each and "Namah" after is a complete puja in itself, traditionally performed with flowers or akshata offered at the feet of the deity with every name.
How to chant
Keep a small bowl of flowers or rice grains beside the deity. With each name, offer a single flower or a pinch of grains while chanting. Move steadily through the list without rushing — the offering of attention matters more than the offering itself.
